Our Favorite Recipes

Frieda's Mondel Bread:
A family recipe from the mother of Cathy Levin, this delicious sweet has
been a favorite at countless Kosher Connection events.
1 cup oil
1 1/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 cup sliced almonds
1 tsp. salt
4 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Cinnamon sugar
Cream oil, sugar and eggs together well. Add remaining ingredients and mix
thoroughly. With oiled hands, form dough into logs and place on greased
cookie sheet. Bake at 350 until golden brown. Approx. 25 minutes. Let logs
cool slightly and slice at 1/2" angles. Place cut side up and sprinkle
generously with cinnemon sugar. Toast in oven for an additional 10 minutes.
Noodle Kugel:
Moist and flavorful, we serve this kugel recipe at many of our Kiddush
luncheons. For a great variation, try adding raisins or other dried fruits.
1 lb. medium egg noodles (cook according to package and drain)
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups milk
Place noodles in a 9x13 baking dish and toss with the butter. Mix remaining
ingredients together and beat well. Pour over noodles an sprinkle the top
with cinnamon. Bake at 350 for about an hour or until set.
